Dwelling on your past mistakes and failures

This is only holding you back. Failure isn’t bad. It’s dwelling on it that makes it harmful to yourself.

If you’re still thinking about your past mistakes, it’s about time you move on and know that it’s okay to fail and make mistakes as long as you learn from them.

The next time you find yourself dwelling on your past mistakes, write them down and reflect on what you can do to avoid doing it again. Learn and be a better you.

Checking your phone when you wake up

I’m guilty of doing this. It’s hard when you’re a digital nomad and your job is fully online.

I’m still trying to avoid checking my phone as soon as I wake up. I did notice that not checking my phone helps start my day on a positive note.

I don’t think about work for a few hours and it feels awesome. I can get to journaling, eating breakfast, meditating and doing exercise before I finally tackle my tasks at work for the day.

And guess what? I also feel a little more productive.

So tomorrow when you wake up, start your day by not checking your phone first.

Comparing yourself

Stop comparing yourself to other people. You’re just bringing negativity into your life when you do. You might even have feelings of unworthiness, not being good enough, loneliness and so on which might lead to self-hatred.

Instead of moving forward to achieving your dreams, comparing yourself to others is restricting you to go a step further into realizing your goals.

Next time you compare yourself to others, remember that your path is different from theirs. You’re unique and you have your own timing. Not everyone achieves their dreams at the same time.

Not getting enough sleep

Depriving yourself of sleep is depriving yourself of the ability to do work at your full capability. Your immune system becomes weak, you’re more grumpy, and you’ll have a hard time understanding things.

Surrounding yourself with toxic people
