To get clear skin, we’re always told to use the right products, exercise and watch what we eat. But what foods exactly?
With so many delicious foods, it’s too much of a hassle to keep track of what we put in our mouths. For this reason, I’ve decided to do all of the research for you guys and list the best fruits and foods to eat for healthy glowing skin.
Avocado
The first on our list is avocado. These babies are packed with nutrients that are great in keeping the heart strong and skin taut. They are full of vitamin B, vitamin C, and copper which supports collagen production.
But that’s not all! They also have vitamin E, an antioxidant which aids in protecting your skin from any oxidative damage. According to one study, high intake of healthy fats (the kind of fats found in avocados) is associated with supple and springy skin.
Fatty fish
Get your hands on some fatty fish next time you go buy food. Fatty fishes such as mackerel, salmon and herring are high in omega-3 fatty acids which play an important role in keeping the skin healthy.
Omega-3s can protect your skin from any sun damage and prevent premature aging. How awesome is that?

Papaya
Always include papayas in your breakfast and evening snacks for healthier looking skin. Papayas contain vitamins A, B, C, folate, pantothenic acid, and minerals like potassium, magnesium and copper.
They also have papain and chymopapain enzymes which can help prevent skin damage caused by free radicals. And it doesn’t end there! Papayas also have antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties!

Kale
Kale is rich in lutein, an antioxidant which can stop inflammation in skin and protect it from UV irradiation-mediated skin irritation. Unlike other vegetables, kale has one of the highest level of antioxidants.
It’s also a great source of vitamin C, calcium, selenium, flavonoids, and vitamin E which are very much vital for our skin and body’s proper functioning.
Sunflower seeds
Next time you’re looking for something to snack on, get some sunflower seeds. These are good sources of skin-boosting nutrients. A single ounce of sunflower seeds has 49% of the DV for vitamin E, 41% of the DV for selenium, 14% of the DV for zinc, and 5.5 grams of protein. Just wow!

Dark chocolate
Here’s one more reason to eat more chocolate! Cocoa has phenomenal effects on your skin. It contains antioxidants that can protect your skin from sunburn, improve wrinkles, hydration, skin texture, skin thickness, and blood flow.
Next time you choose dark chocolate, find those with at least 70% cocoa to reap the benefits of dark chocolate.
