Until one day, I decided that I wanted to live my life loving myself.

After all, there’s only one me. And I only have one body.

Since then, I gradually fell in love with my self again and have gained more confidence. If you’re looking for ways on how to fall in love with yourself again, I’ve just got the thing!

Go on dates (with yourself)

Who said you can’t?

Go see a movie by yourself.

Treat yourself to that cake you’ve always wanted to try.

Reward yourself with a trip to the spa.

All these little things and more can help build your confidence. Sure it will feel weird to just go by yourself but sooner you’ll learn how to be okay with being yourself. Once you do, it’ll feel liberating!

I love taking myself out on dates. It helps me take care of myself and love myself more and more.

Develop positive habits

Take good care of yourself by developing positive habits. These can be:

  • drinking 8 glasses of water every day
  • spend time with nature
  • include fruits and vegetables in your diet
  • exercise daily
  • and many more

If you have a planner, you can add a habit tracker to help remind yourself of your new habits.

Meditate

Meditation isn’t about silencing your thoughts. Instead, it’s about learning to sift through each of your thoughts. By meditating, you are learning more about yourself. You’re gaining a new perspective, managing stress and improving your mood.

Get to know yourself and fall in love with your mind.

Tell yourself positive affirmations

Ever heard of the phrase “you are what you think you are”? All those negative thoughts in your mind will soon become what you are if you don’t stop it.

Starting today, write down positive affirmations that you want to tell yourself. You can also make it into a daily habit.

Stop comparing yourself to others

I’ve written about this time and again. Comparing yourself to others isn’t healthy for you. It gives you self doubt and makes you think that you’re not enough when you already are. You’re depriving yourself of happiness and peace every time you compare yourself to other people.

You should be proud of yourself and how far you’ve come. We don’t all walk the same path. And those successful people that you’re comparing yourself to have been through a lot of hardship to get to where they are now.

Get out of your comfort zone

Go do something that scares you. Be brave and tell yourself “you can do it”. Who knows? You’ll end up loving it!

Face your fears and discover something about yourself that will make you fall in love.

Journal

If you love to write, this is for you. If you haven’t tried journaling, why not give it a try?

Back when I was in high school and college, I’d fill up several notebooks with my thoughts. There’s just something so liberating about writing down what you think. Just keep writing.

Sooner or later, you’ll discover something about yourself. It’s like writing a letter to yourself, really.

And by journaling, you’ll learn a lot of things that you never thought were true about you. That’s one way to fall in love with yourself.
