Once in a while, it’s great to practice self-love. If you’re like me and you get too busy with work or with life in general, then you definitely should give these a go.
Hustling is great and all but taking a few minutes a day to practice self-love makes all the difference if you want to be more productive and confident. Practicing self love has tremendously helped me boost my mood.
Because of that, I thought of sharing these simple and easy to do ways of practicing self-love.
Schedule pamper days
How do you like to be pampered? Is it eating a box of chocolates? Getting a bubble bath? Or getting your nails done? Whatever it is, giving yourself a little TLC every now and then is one way to practice self-love.
Say goodbye to toxic relationships
Stop harming yourself by being with negative people who keep putting you down. Instead, start surrounding yourself with people who deeply care about you and keep you happy.
Talk to yourself like you’re talking to someone you love
The mind is a powerful thing. It’s important that you talk to yourself in a positive way. Constantly putting yourself down won’t help. Ever heard of the phrase “you are what you think you are”? And it’s true!
I used to put myself down and it got to the point where I started to believe in what I was saying. Give yourself some love and start saying that “you can” instead of “you can’t”. Give yourself positive affirmations every day.
Get lots of rest
Getting enough rest not only allows your body to reset but it helps you start your day on a positive note.
As Marie Kondo puts it, “does it spark joy?”
If not, then get rid of it! You’ll be doing yourself a favor. Decluttering your space will make you happier. Go through your things and donate stuff.
Aside from that, start decluttering your relationships and your social media. Get rid of any negativity in your life. You don’t need it.
Watch the sunrise and sunset
There’s just something about the sunrise and the sunset that gives you a great feeling. Starting off your day with the sunrise gives you that positive feeling while the sunset offers you a feeling of achievement.
It also helps you be more grateful for each day of your life and appreciate each moment.
Go on a weekend getaway
Wherever that may be. Be it a micro-adventure or a staycation, you deserve it! Take a trip somewhere.
Try something new
Ever wanted to try something new? Well, now is the time to do it! Give yourself some self-love by going out of your comfort zone. Who knows? You might even love it!
Take baby steps
If you’re as impatient as me, you’ll understand when I say it can get frustrating when you don’t get the results you want. I’ve learned to take things slow. Understand that everything starts with baby steps. You can’t rush perfection, after all. 😉
Start by taking daily actions. If you want to write a book, start by completing one chapter at a time. If you want to learn how to dance, practice an hour or two every day.
Practice self-love by taking action today and turning your dreams into reality! It might take a lot of time but it’s well worth it! I promise.
Eat healthy food
Stay healthy and eat healthy food. Eating less junk boosts your immune system. Love yourself by feeding it more healthy food. Your future self will thank you for it!
Stop comparing yourself to other people
Comparing your flaws to other people’s success is not healthy. It can even be damaging. Instead, realize that you are writing your own story. No matter how well you know someone, you will never know how they feel and how they perceive their life.
You might not know it but someone else out there wants what you have while you’re busy comparing what you have to others. Be grateful for what you have and spend time to build your own path in life.
Learn to forgive yourself
If you make a mistake, forgive yourself. Know that not everyone is perfect. It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them!
Say “no” often
It’s easy to say yes to everything but doing so can get overwhelming especially when you really mean “no”. Start saying “no” when you need to. Start setting boundaries as this lets others know what’s okay with you and what’s not.
Drink lots of water
Give your body some love and drink a lot of water. It keeps you hydrated, helps balance your blood sugar, relieves headaches, and keeps your skin healthy. There’s a lot of benefits to drinking water.
Pursue a hobby
Hobbies can be relaxing, fun, challenging, educational and social. Find something that you love to do. It can take your mind off any stress and build your confidence.
